Kettering were pegged back by Chris McPhee's late strike for 10-man Kidderminster Harriers.
The hosts got off to a dream start, Brett Solkhon firing in from close range after just four minutes.
The visitors' uphill task was made tougher just after the interval when defender Aaron Griffiths was sent off for violent conduct.
However, with just six minutes left, McPhee earned Harriers an unlikely point with a fine finish from 12 yards.
Harriers full-back Lee Vaughan told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "The sending-off summed up the referee today. I think it was probably a booking.
"Aaron Griffiths got a bit excited and went over the ball. I didn't think it was a sending-off from where I was, right next to it."
Harriers assistant manager Gary Whildtold BBC Hereford & Worcester: "It was obvious how poor the referee was but it was a tremendous effort from our lads to come back when we were down to 10 men.
"We could have pinched it in the end. It looked like it was us who had the extra man in the second half so all credit to the lads.
"It was a sloppy goal to concede - I think that's the first this season conceded from a corner."
