Bruce to discuss Ipswich future

Ipswich Town defender Alex Bruce has said he plans to speak to new manager Roy Keane about his future.

The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international - who is out of contract this summer - rejected a new two-year deal earlier this season.

Bruce told the club website: "I felt the offer made in January wasn't what I was looking for but I have a meeting with the manager this week.

"Hopefully something can be sorted out because I want to stay at Ipswich."

The former Birmingham City man has become a popular figure amongst fans since he arrived at Portman Road in 2006.

"I've been lucky enough to have enjoyed a good relationship with the supporters and if I have played my last game, I want to say thanks to them," added Bruce.

"I came here to play regular first-team football and I've achieved that but I also wanted to help the club win promotion so that's been frustrating."
