Hull City have signed Sunderland centre-back Paul McShane on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old Republic of Ireland defender has not featured for the Black Cats this season due to a knee injury.
The former Manchester United trainee played 22 times last season but has fallen down the pecking order following the signing of Anton Ferdinand.
McShane is Hull's ninth signing of the summer following their promotion to the Premier League.
The Wicklow-born defender will not be eligible to play in either of the Tigers' Premier League meetings with Roy Keane's Black Cats this season.
McShane signed for Sunderland from West Brom for 2.5m in July 2007.
