Yorkshire have awarded first-team caps to Adil Rashid and Andrew Gale. Rashid, 20, is Yorkshire's leading wicket-taker in the County Championship this season, while the 24-year-old Gale has scored three centuries. Director of cricket Martyn Moxon said: "Adil has continued to take wickets this year and has also established himself in the one-day side." Of Gale he said: "He has over 3,000 runs for the county and is a batsman who I hope has a very bright future." | I'm very pleased that I've cemented my place in the Yorkshire side in all forms of the game. Rashid, who made his Yorkshire debut in 2006, has been tipped as a future England Test player. He ended the 2007 season as Yorkshire's leading all-rounder with 790 Championship runs and 40 wickets. Gale made his debut for the county in 2004 and his performances this season - which have seen him close in on 1,000 first class runs - have helped him cement his place in the side. Gale said: "This is definitely one of the proudest moments of my career as it is every young Yorkshire lad's dream to receive your county cap. "The season has gone really well, although I'm obviously a bit disappointed to miss out on this current game through injury as I've got one eye on a thousand runs for the season. "But I'm very pleased that I've cemented my place in the Yorkshire side in all forms of the game. This is a very special day."
