Gough may still play Twenty20 cricket next season |
Yorkshire's outgoing captain Darren Gough believes the Headingley wicket should be made more bowler friendly. Gough, who will retire at the end of the season, says changing the home wicket to suit the bowler would give Yorkshire a major advantage. "Yorkshire have a great bowling unit but they need help and encouragement," the former England paceman told BBC Radio Leeds. "If you keep bowling on wickets like this you'll soon get disheartened." Gough added: "If you turn up time and time again at home and it's like this then it's not good for your bowlers. "I've been saying it needs to be changed for two years. Hopefully it will now kick in as people are starting to agree with me now."
