Hartlepool United forward David Foley has been released from his contract following interest from US League club Puerto Rico Islanders.
Foley, 22, is set to fly out to the Central American island to discuss a move with Islanders boss, and former Northern Ireland player, Colin Clarke.
Since joining Pools in 2003, Foley has made more than 100 appearances.
However this season he has been pushed down the pecking order and has featured just twice for Chris Turner's side.
Foley joined Blue Square Premier side Barrow on a month's loan earlier in the season but returned after just three appearances with an ankle injury.
During his spell with Hartlepool, Foley became the youngest player to make an appearance at 16 years and 44 days against Port Vale in 2003.
He also scored the winner in the club's FA Cup third round defeat of Premier League side Stoke City during the 2008-09 season.
