Striker Foley agrees Barrow loan

David Foley

Barrow have signed Hartlepool United striker David Foley on a month loan.

The 22-year-old joined Hartlepool as a trainee and has since made 114 appearances, scoring seven goals.

The South Shields-born striker goes straight into the Bluebirds squad, having made just one substitute appearance for Pools this season.

Barrow bosses Dave Bayliss and Darren Sheridan have been seeking a new striker, with just three goals in four games so far this season.

Foley's big moment in a Pools shirt came last season when he scored the opening goal in the club's 2-0 defeat of Premier League side Stoke City.

Meanwhile, the Bluebirds have parted company with striker Darren Green following a short-term spell at Holker Street.

Green, 20, was due to remain with the club until Christmas but the club's management team have released the former Stockport County man from his contract after just two and a half weeks.
