Gillingham have dismissed speculation linking their top scorer Simeon Jackson with a move to Everton, saying it is nothing more than "paper talk".
The Canadian international scored 21 goals last season and has already hit the net eight times this campaign.
"It's paper talk, but it is a nice thing to have because it should give him a little boost," Gills manager Mark Stimson told BBC Radio Kent.
"But he won't be sidetracked. The kid is focused and won't be fazed by it."
Stimson added: "He'll just keep doing what he's doing - work hard and get the rewards."
Jackson scored Gillingham's last-gasp winner against Shrewsbury in the play-off final at Wembley, which saw them promoted to League One last season.
Stimson has previously said he thinks the 22-year-old is worth around £1.5m.
