The 7-0 defeat was the worst result of Stimson's managerial career
Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has told his players to lift themselves and prove Saturday's 7-0 thrashing at Shrewsbury was a "one-off".
The result was the biggest defeat of Stimson's managerial career and was the worst Gills performance since an identical score at Barrow in 1961.
"To be honest I should not have to do a lot," Stimson told BBC Radio Kent.
"The players should come in absolutely flying and to want to prove to me that that was a one-off."
He added: "It's gone now and now we get over it and get back to where we did well last week.
"They should want to get back out playing and I'm sure they will.
"All we will do is what we do every week and we try and keep the sessions as bright and bubbly as we can, and encourage the boys to get on the ball and show responsibility and look forward to the Aldershot game."
Gillingham had gone three games unbeaten before Saturday's defeat at New Meadow.
