Harvey led Rovers to their highest Conference finish of eighth in 2007-08

Forest Green manager Jim Harvey has confirmed he was dismissed by the club before they played Leeds on 29 July.

Through a statement released by his solicitors, Harvey said: "I was accused of a serious breach of contract - an accusation I completely deny.

"I intend to fight to clear my name of any wrongdoing. I understand from my solicitors that the club's conduct was procedurally deficient."

Forest Green have declined to make any further comment on the subject.

Harvey added: "The club have been attempting to put right their procedural deficiencies by belatedly taking me through a disciplinary process even though they made it clear on 29th July that I was finished with the club.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the club and for it to end in this way is extremely sad."
