The future of Forest Green Rovers boss Jim Harvey appears to be in doubt after he missed a pre-season win over a Leeds United XI on Wednesday.

A club insider alleged Harvey had been involved in a breach of contract, but insisted he had not been sacked.

The club said the 51-year-old went home after feeling ill, but Harvey told BBC Gloucestershire he was OK, before refusing to answer any more questions.

Harvey is believed to have applied for the manager's job at Cambridge United.

As one of the most experienced bosses in the non league elite, he has also been linked with jobs at Aldershot, Oxford United and Stevenage Borough in his time with Forest Green.

Harvey was also missing from the club's photo shoot which happened before the friendly which Rovers won 2-0 with goals from Steve Davies and Mark Preece.
