Forest Green Rovers have announced Jim Harvey as their new manager. The former Tranmere and Hereford midfielder, 48, had been in charge of Morecambe until the end of last season.
Harvey helped establish the Shrimps as a Conference force in his 12 years at the helm, during which time he suffered a heart attack in November 2005.
He replaces Gary Owers who paid the price for a poor start to the season and will be assisted by Paul Wanless who has been in temporary charge.
Club chairman Colin Gardner said: "Jim's expertise in also producing young players was a main strength in his application, for we have the youth infrastructure now in place throughout the club and it needs a wise head and strong leadership.
"And with the new stadium now being complete, it is time we built a strong playing base at the New Lawn, to assure us of a 10th season in the Conference.
"The board of directors is confident we have chosen the best man for the job".
Harvey was one of 36 applicants for the vacant post.
