Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish confessed to being mentally drained following their 4-3 victory over Forest Green Rovers.
Fleet equalised three times in a game that saw them move out of the Blue Square Premier relegation zone with Leon Crooks's stoppage time winner.
Daish told BBC Radio Kent: "There were times when I thought there must be easier ways of earning a living.
"All credit to the players for ending a troubled week on a high because we deserved the points."
Daish added: "When we levelled at 3-3 I just sat on the bench because I never get too high or too low. But when we scored the winner I let off steam.
"Throughout, I believed we controlled our own destiny. Now we go to Luton on Saturday confident we can get something."
