Crooks' goal was his first in the league since August
Leon Crooks hit an injury-time winner as Ebbsfleet beat relegation rivals Forest Green Rovers in a seven-goal thriller at Stonebridge Road.
Rovers were three times in front, through an Isaiah Rankin penalty and two goals from Daniel Powell.
But Fleet levelled each time, twice thanks to Magno Vieira, then Stefan Bailey's long-range strike.
And Crooks headed home Scott Ginty's cross to move Fleet out of the bottom four and plunge Rovers into trouble.
Fleet are now 20th, a point ahead of Rovers, who admittedly still have three games in hand.
Rovers went ahead from the penalty spot when Dean Pooley fouled Rankin, who picked himself up to emphatically dispatch the spot-kick.
Fleet equalised within a minute when Bailey broke down the left, his cross being headed home by Magno Vieira.
Powell completed an action-packed four-minute spell when he restored Rovers' lead from close range.
But Vieira levelled again 10 minutes after the break with a 12-yarder.
Powell fired the visitors back in front midway through the second half before Bailey equalised with a 30-yard rocket, but Crooks stole all three points.
