Crewe Alexandra's Byron Moore yet to sign new contract

Crewe manager Dario Gradi has said he is waiting for Byron Moore to make a decision about the contract he has been offered by the League Two club.

The 22-year-old, who can operate as a winger or a striker, has been a first-team regular for the Alex this season but is out of contract in the summer.

Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke: "Last time I spoke to him he said he hadn't made up his mind, The onus is on him.

"He has a contract on offer to sign and we can't improve that offer."

Moore made his debut in August 2007 and has made 140 appearances, scoring 14 goals.

As he is below the age of 24, Crewe would be entitled to compensation should he leave for another club.

Meanwhile goalkeeper Steve Phillips signed an extended contract on Tuesday, which will keep him at the Alexandra Stadium until the summer of 2012.

Gradi's side has also been boosted by the news that striker Shaun Miller has recovered from a thigh injury and could be fit to face Gillingham on Saturday.

Miller, who has netted 13 goals for the Alex this season, missed the 3-1 defeat at Rotherham on 5 February.
