Crewe captain Mat Mitchel-King has said he is still coming to terms with life as a professional footballer.
The 26-year-old defender has made 20 starts for the Alex since his move from non-league Histon in the summer.
"I've only just come into full-time football and it was a shock to be training every day," Mitchel-King told BBC Radio Stoke.
"If people say that I'm improving on the pitch, that's music to ears. I'm hoping I can become a better player."
He continued: "Some of the credit has got to go to [manager] Dario Gradi and his staff, and some has to go to me for taking it all on board."

Mitchel-King worked as a male model and body double during his time at Histon, before being snapped up by the Alex in the summer.
Crewe are now unbeaten in four matches after a 0-0 draw against Lincoln City on Saturday, but Mitchel-King admitted it was a frustrating afternoon.
"Teams will now be coming to try to stifle us, rather than trying to match us, and get us not playing our normal game," said the skipper.
"We know we've got enough quality in the side and we were still creating chances.
"If teams want to do that, we'll have a good go at breaking them down and see if we can score goals."
