Crewe defender Mat Mitchel-King has told the Alex fans that their season is far from over, despite a run of six defeats from seven league matches.
They have dropped to 16th in League Two, but the former Histon man told BBC Radio Stoke the team can bounce back.
"When we're playing football, we know they appreciate it," said Mitchel-King.
"We want to give them [fans] something to smile about and cheer about. It's early in the season and we want to show what we can do as players."
"The fans are still coming to every game, and we want to thank them for their support because it's been a difficult few months for the club."

Crewe were beaten 2-1 by local rivals Port Vale on Saturday, their fifth home defeat of the campaign.
Mitchel-King, who has been named as captain in the absence of regular skipper Billy Jones, believes that the root of Crewe's problems lies in defence.
"I'm a centre-back and I'm here to stop goals, and it knocks my personal pride if we keep leaking goals," he said.
"We can't expect to do big things in this league if we carry on conceding two goals every game.
"We just want some results and something to show for the fruits of our labour."
