Stay positive, says Crewe skipper

Billy Jones
Jones replaced the departed Julien Baudet as Crewe Alexandra captain

Crewe captain Billy Jones insists the Alex squad will remain positive, despite losing 2-1 to Aldershot in a game they dominated on Saturday.

Gudjon Thordarson's side registered 23 shots on goal in the game, but still lost for the fourth time this season.

"We can't get too disheartened by it," Jones told BBC Radio Stoke.

"If you look at the amount of chances we created, there are positives to take from it. We have to keep being positive and then the goals will come."

The Alex dropped out of the play-off places in League Two as a result of their defeat at the Alexandra Stadium.

But Jones is still confident the team can achieve promotion back to League One at the first attempt.

"I don't personally believe we've played a very good side in this league yet. That's not disrespectful to the teams we've played, but I don't think anyone can be better than us."
