Thordarson's side were beaten 1-0 by a youthful Wolves side on Wednesday
French defender Maxime Chanot will extend his stay with Crewe Alexandra after appearing in the 1-0 friendly defeat against Wolves on Wednesday.
The former Sheffield United and Mansfield player arrived on trial at the Alexandra Stadium on Monday.
Manager Gudjon Thordarson told BBC Radio Stoke: "I thought he did well and did himself justice. He's competitive and can play in various positions.
"He has options, but if he wants to stay I would like to see more of him."
Chanot came on as a second-half substitute for new signing Patrick Ada against Wolves, as the Alex fell to their first defeat of pre-season.
"I think he showed enough to give me hope that he can improve and be a part of what we are doing," Thordarson added.
Captain Scott Malone scored the only goal of the game just before half-time with a neat finish, after good build-up play between Kyle Bennett and Ashley Hemmings.
Meanwhile Thordarson has confirmed that the club have pulled out of a move for Icelandic utility player Gunnar Mar Gudmundsson.
