Mansfield Town have signed central defender Maxime Chanot from Sheffield United on a one-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old made his first appearance for the Stags in their 1-0 defeat at home to Woking on Saturday.

The Frenchman, who picked up a yellow card during his debut for Mansfield, signed for the Blades' academy in 2007.

Chanot, who will wear the number 15 shirt for the Stags, has played in more than 15 matches for Sheffield United's reserve team.
