Nottingham Forest midfielder Guy Moussi has become the latest player to add his name to the club's growing list of injuries this season.
The Frenchman, 23, who has impressed since his summer signing from Angers, will have surgery on an ankle problem.
Reds manager Colin Calderwood told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It'll be perhaps eight to 10 weeks until we have Guy back. It's a serious injury.
"He's made a big impression on the fans and it's unfortunate."
Moussi picked up the injury towards the end of the Reds' last game against Crystal Palace.
It seems his place in the side may go to a Palace player, with the Reds signing Carl Fletcher on a six-week loan.
It's going to take a considerable length of time to recover him and that's a blow to us

Calderwood said: "It's not nice for the boy and that's what we've got to remember. We've got umpteen other players who'll play, but for the boy it's certainly a big blow.
"It's going to take a considerable length of time to recover him and that's a blow to us."
Forest have been dogged by injury problems all season. Summer signings Joe Garner and Paul Anderson are yet to figure, while midfielder Lewis McGugan has missed the last nine games and striker Robert Earnshaw has been absent for the last three.
Strikers Andrew Cole and Nathan Tyson both missed the start of the season, too, but Calderwood is refusing to allow injuries to become an excuse for his side's slump to the foot of the Championship table.
"It's nothing to moan about. It's just normal practice. No-one's ever perfect every day and you go through a week where everybody trains and is ready for the Saturday.
"It's a healthier position now, with the exception of losing Guy."
