Gradi was appointed caretaker boss at Crewe in November
Crewe caretaker manager Dario Gradi has praised his side's team spirit following the 1-0 victory over Swindon Town on Saturday.
Shaun Miller's 45th-minute strike gave the Alex their first league win since 13 September.
Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke: "It's very pleasing for everyone involved.
"Even after defeats spirits in the dressing room have been good, the players have kept themselves going so good luck to them."
And Gradi, who was placed in temporary charge at the Alexandra Stadium after Steve Holland was relieved of his duties, challenged his side to build on their first win in 13 games.
"It wasn't a great performance, but wasn't bad considering we had six players out injured," said Gradi.
"The players worked hard, I asked them to give the crowd something to cheer about and they did.
"We didn't play a lot of football, but we played some and we've got to try and build on that."
Gradi was also full of praise for Miller, who found the net for the third time in three games and took his goal tally for the season to five.
"Shaun is always dangerous but he needs time to develop and hopefully whoever takes the job after me will do that," said Gradi.
"With Shaun playing you always think you can score, we just need someone who can score goals alongside him."
