Chesterfield have signed former Kilmarnock and Grimsby Town defender Simon Ford on a two-year deal.
Ford, 28, made 163 appearances for Kilmarnock before turning down the offer of a new contract at Rugby Park.
The London-born defender, who has won three caps for Jamaica, said: "Although I had some options, I am delighted to be joining Chesterfield.
"I am really looking forward to kicking off the season at what is a fabulous new stadium."
Dundee were among several clubs believed to be interested in signing Ford, who will officially join the League Two club on 1 July.
