Sean McDaid is Carlisle United's only new signing since last season

Carlisle United managing director John Nixon has told BBC Cumbria that the club currently has up to three offers on the table for new players.

Carlisle are looking to add to their single signing since last season - defender Sean McDaid.

Nixon expects a number of deals to be completed by early July.

"We've been working for some time now on targets, but aiming at players that are better than those we've got or have had in the past," he said.

"There's not a day goes by that we're not in the transfer market and that's been virtually every day since we finished playing in early May.

"We aim to build on the success from bouncing back from fifth bottom the season before last, to mid-table last season, and get in amongst the play-offs or automatic promotion next season. "
