Steve McCormack believes Barrow Raiders could win the Championship |
Barrow Raiders manager Steve McCormack believes that his side can still finish top of the Championship. Raiders are currently fourth, 11 points behind leaders Featherstone, but with two games in hands on the sides above. He told BBC Cumbria: "We're still in the mixer. Because of our successful Challenge Cup run we're still a couple of games behind everybody." The Cumbrian side are also set to be boosted by the return to action of key players James Coyle and James Nixon. McCormack, whose side won 24-20 at Widnes on Sunday, has confirmed that influential half-back Coyle is expected to play against Leigh on 3 July, after being sidelined with a knee injury since the end of April. He added that winger Nixon is also expected to return to the squad before the end of the season after breaking his arm in February.
