Schramm injured his ankle against Newcastle last Saturday

Workington captain Chris Schramm is expected to recover from injury in time to compete in the British Final at Wolverhampton on Monday.

Schramm picked up the ankle injury while the Comets hosted Newcastle at Derwent Park on Saturday.

Team boss Ian Thomas said: "Chris was in a bit of pain from his left ankle.

"He feels that he will be fit for Monday when he contests the British Final and also for Thursday when we visit Sheffield."

Workington travel to Edinburgh in the Premier League on Friday.
