Carlisle United agree deal for defender Sean McDaid

League One side Carlisle United have agreed to sign full-back Sean McDaid on a one-year deal.

The 23-year-old arrives at Brunton Park following his release from Championship side Doncaster Rovers.

Former Scotland under-19 international McDaid joined Rovers in 2005 from the Leeds United academy and made 91 appearances during his five-year stay.

He missed the entire 2008/09 season with a dislocated knee and played just once for the club last season.

The move reunites McDaid with Greg Abbott, who was an academy coach at Leeds during the defender's time at Elland Road.
