Cambridge United winger Courtney Pitt believes it will take him at least a month to reach full fitness following a long-term knee injury.
The 26-year-old made his first appearance of the season coming off the bench in the 1-0 win over Ebbsfleet.
Pitt told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "It will take me at least another month or so to reach match fitness.
"I'm still way short of fitness to play 90 minutes, but if Gary Brabin tells me to play then I will play."
Pitt underwent surgery after damaging his knee in a pre-season game against West Ham.
U's boss Gary Brabin brought the former Chelsea and Portsmouth man back to the club only weeks after he was released by previous boss Jimmy Quinn.

"The knee felt good, I didn't have any problems with it at all, so, touch wood, it will be ok from now on," Pitt said.
"You've got to be really fit to play in the first team at any club, and it's not different here."
The U's are next in action at Torquay on Saturday.
