Burton Albion have signed goalkeeper Adam Legzdins from Crewe Alexandra on a two-year contract.
The 23-year-old began his career at Birmingham City 2006 before moving to Crewe in 2008 and has also had loan spells at Alfreton and Halifax Town.
Legzdins told BBC Radio Derby: "I'm looking to progress in my career now.
"I'd like a successful season. If we work hard and do what we can there's no reason why we can't be up at the top of the league."
The Stafford-born keeper made just eight appearances for the Alex and turned down a new 12-month contract with Crewe in May.
Legzdins said: "I felt at the stage I'm at it wasn't the best place for me to progress.
"I'm intelligent enough to know when things aren't going right and the opportunity to work with Kevin [Poole] and Paul [Peschisolido] was a better short and long-term future for me than staying at Crewe. "
Manager Paul Peschisolido said the Brewers were close to also signing 18-year-old Liverpool's academy striker James Ellison.
Several triallists are expected to train with Burton this summer including three French players.
