Bayliss is waiting to hear if striker David Brown accepts his offer
Barrow joint-manager Dave Bayliss says the club are speaking to players and agents as he seeks to strengthen the Bluebirds' squad.
"We've got loads of lads who we've contacted and we are active every week," Bayliss told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"Come January, maybe even in the next week or two, there will be players coming in and players going.
"We know who can cope at this level and who can't. The longer we keep those who can't they will drag everyone down."
Barrow completed the signing of striker Richard Brodie on a one-month loan deal from Blue Square Premier rivals York City earlier this week.
"He played against us at the start of the season and I thought he was fantastic on the day," said Bayliss.
"He's found himself playing a bit-part on the left wing, his favourite position is at centre-forward.
"We will give him the chance to play that role and he will give us another option that we haven't got."
The Bluebirds have also extended the loan of goalkeeper Alan Martin from Leeds United by a further month.
The Scotland Under-19 international has been given permission to play in Saturday's FA Cup tie at Tamworth.
"That was part of the deal. If they wouldn't let us play him on Saturday we would have had to look elsewhere," said Bayliss.
We put an offer to his agent yesterday and we are just waiting to hear back from him
Dave Bayliss on the future of David Brown
Bayliss is also hoping to determine striker David Brown's future with the club after making the player an offer this week.
Brown, who is playing on non-contract forms following his release by Accrington, scored his first goal for the club in Saturday's 3-1 win over Eastbourne.
"He obviously still wants to stay full-time," added Bayliss. "The ball's in his court now.
"We can't wait around forever to get a decision from him. We put an offer to his agent yesterday and we are just waiting to hear back from him.
