York City striker Richard Brodie has joined Barrow on a month-long loan.
The terms of the deal mean the 21-year-old will not play against York if the sides meet in a cup competition.
York boss Colin Walker said: "We have decided to send Richard out on loan because we feel he needs to gain experience to assist his development.
"Richard will remain a York City player as we feel he has potential. He is keen to go on loan as he recognises the benefits this move will bring."
Brodie joined York midway through the 2006-07 campaign from Newcastle Benfield after impressing against City in an FA Cup tie.
