Thirsk swimmer Jessica Millar has earned a place in the Great Britain junior waterpolo squad. The 15-year-old now has the chance to be selected for the European Championships next year. She has been selected to attend regional and national training days for the last two years. Millar told BBC Radio York: "I was really shocked and really happy to be part of the team and I'm training as hard as I can to keep my place." Millar plays for Harrogate & Ripon Sportwalkers in the National League and also swims with the Thirsk White Horse swimming team.  | Getting to the Olympics would be a dream come true |
"I'm a swimmer as well, and sometimes there are leagues with my swimming club that I miss to play polo in Manchester," she said. She attends the regional training sessions every week and this led to an invitation to join the national sessions in Manchester. Millar said now she has won her place the hard work will start. "I'm trying as hard as I can to get selected for the Europeans and it just goes on from there really," she said. "Getting to the Olympics would be a dream come true."
