Carmarthen miss European spot
Carmarthen played against AIK Solna in last season's Intertoto Cup
Carmarthen played in the Intertoto Cup last season
Carmarthen Town's European hopes were dashed on Tuesday night as they missed out on a place in next season's Uefa Cup.

European football's governing body grants spots to three countries who finished in the top 18 of Uefa's Fair Play league.

Norway, by virtue of topping the league, had already been handed a Uefa Cup spot.

But the two teams drawn out of the hat on Tuesday were Ipswich Town - gaining some consolation after being relegated from the Premiership - and Czech team Sigma Olomouc.

The draw was made in Basel, Switzerland, during the half-time interval of the European Under-21 Championship final between the Czech Republic and France.

Carmarthen qualified for the draw after they were the highest placed club in the Wales Fair Play table who had not already qualified for a European place.

The mid-Wales side made their debut in European competition last season when they gave a good account of themselves against AIK Solna in the Intertoto Cup.

Full list of teams in the draw: Orgyte IS (Sweden), FC Lahti (Finalnd), Grindavik (Iceland), Ipswich Town (England), Aalborg BK (Denmark), VfL Borussia Monchengladbach (Germany), JK Tulevik Viljandi (Estonia), SC Rotor Volgograd (Russia), K St Truidense VV (Belgium), FC Sochaux-Montbeliard (France), FC Ashod (Israel), Carmarthen Town (Wales), Debreceni VSC (Hungary), SK Sigma Olomouc (Czech Republic), Neuchatel Xamax (Switzerland), Real Sociedad (Spain)
The Yugoslavia team will be decided after the season ends on 6 June.
