Champions Linfield went top of the Irish Premier League on goal difference by beating Dungannon Swifts at Windsor. The Blues had started the day three points behind but leaders Glentoran's dramatic 4-3 defeat at Portadown means David Jeffrey's boys edge ahead.
Linfield took the lead on 27 minutes when Andrew Hunter headed in and then Peter Thompson made it 2-0 in the second half.
Dungannon's goal came on 76 minutes through James Slater.
Linfield have now gone 11 matches unbeaten in the league campaign.
"We were professional and well-disciplined and, considering the possession we enjoyed, could possibly have won by more," said Linfield boss Jeffrey.
"But we were up against a strong Dungannon side who have been going well recently.
"The players were told to go out and do their jobs and the league table would look after itself.
"It is going to be tight with ourselves, Glentoran and Portadown.
"But it is also tight at the bottom with eight points covering nine clubs so I know we will have a real battle on our hands when we go to Institute on Saturday."
