Tommy Wright's Limavady have won their last four matches |
Limavady United made it four consecutive wins in the Irish Premier League by edging out Newry City at the Showgrounds on Monday. Kevin Ramsey got two for United who stay fourth in the table.
But the Roesiders, whose other goal came from Paul Owens, had to fight off a determined Newry side.
City scored second half goals through Barry Meehan and Colm McCullagh but could not force an equaliser in the closing stages.
Ramsey's opener came just two minutes before half-time when he beat Alan Young with a low shot from the edge of the penalty area following good build-up work by Paul brown and Owens.
But Newry hit back with a 54th minute equaliser through Meehan's scuffed shot after a pass from Austin Friel.
Ramsey turned provider for Limavady's second goal, his flick-on leading to Owens shooting in from 12 yards in the 63rd minute.
Ramsey headed United 3-1 head from a Brendan Devenney cross on 70 minutes but Colm McCullagh reduced the arrears with a close-range stab just two minutes later.
