Darren Fitzgerald scored in Ards 2-0 win over Omagh Town |
Omagh Town stay firmly rooted to the bottom of the Irish Premier League despite a more encouraging performance against Ards at Clandeboye Park. Having conceded 28 goals in their last four games, new boss Paul Kee will be happy to have avoided another drubbing.
But Omagh are still looking for their first win of the season and have just one point from nine games.
Darren Fitzgerald scored the opener on 23 minutes while Gary Kennedy made it 2-0 late in the game.
Fitzgerald held off Larry Farren before lobbing keeper Damien Bradley.
The former Glentoran striker, due to leave Ards for Ballymena when the transfer window opens in January, had the ball in the net again but it was disallowed for offside.
Kennedy's goal came on 87 minutes and he could have had another but Bradley saved his stoppage-time penalty.
