Jordan 0-0 UAE
Jordan reached the quarter-finals of the Asia Cup in their first appearance in the tournament after an uninspiring draw against the United Arab Emirates.
The historic result, achieved under the management of Egyptian coach Mahmoud El Gohary, was watched by King Abdullah of Jordan and a sparse crowd of 11,000 in Beijing.
The Emirates, who had lost both their previous games, shaded the match in terms of possession and should have taken the lead in the 13th minute when Salem Khamis blazed over from point-blank range.
However, chances were few and far between in the second half and Jordan were happy to hold on for the point they needed.
They finished second in Group B behind South Korea to set up a quarter-final against the winners of Group D, either Japan or Iran.
South Korea 4-0 Kuwait
South Korea finally found their form to book their quarter-final place as Group B winners.
They await the runners-up in Group D, likely to be Iran.
South Korea had failed to impress in their opening two games but Dong-Gook Lee put his side in control against Kuwait before half-time.
Lee gave South Korea the lead in the 25th minute, curling a free-kick past Kuwait keeper Shehab Kankone from the edge of the box.
Four minutes before the interval, he made it 2-0 from close range, latching on to a cross from Jin-Sub Park to make him the top scorer at the Asian Cup with three goals.
German-based forward Du-Ri Cha thumped in a third goal in first-half injury time to put the result beyond doubt.
Substitute Jung-Hwan Ahn added a fourth in the 76th minute, crashing home a right-foot shot to complete the rout against the 1980 champions.
South Korea, who reached the World Cup semi-finals as co-hosts two years ago, have not won the Asian Cup since 1960.
