Harrogate Town manager Neil Aspin said his side were lucky to remain in the FA Cup after Saturday's 0-0 draw in the second qualifying round at Workington.
He told BBC Radio York: "We were very poor from the start and never really improved much throughout the game."
The two sides replay on Tuesday at the CNG Stadium for the right to visit Unibond Premier Division side Eastwood Town in the next round.
"I would expect us to be better on Tuesday [in the replay]."
Town also drew 0-0 at Workington just over six weeks ago in the league, but Aspin feels that was a better performance than their FA Cup visit.
I have a burning desire, the FA Cup is the best competition you can play in

"I want to see my team play football and we didn't pass it, the passing was terrible today," Aspin added.
"It's down to the players to put it right on Tuesday, they've got to perform better than they did because that was very poor."
Aspin has named an unchanged squad for Tuesday because he has no other players available to him.
Aaron Hardy has not yet recovered from injury and Huddersfield will not allow Shane Killock to become cup-tied.
"I have a burning desire, the FA Cup is the best competition you can play in," he concluded.
