York lose Sodje for several weeks

York City striker Onome Sodje will be out for between four and six weeks with a hamstring injury.

The 20-year-old pulled up when clean through on goal at Stevenage on Sunday with the recurrence of an injury he first suffered a month ago.

Sodje is York's joint top scorer this season with three goals in three starts and seven substitute appearances.

York manager Colin Walker said: "That's the second time he's done that so it's got to be looked at."

Sodje's form has not been consistent but Walker has been quick to praise him when he has played to his potential.

Of his performance at Stevenage, Walker said: "He was a threat all the game."

Sodje's striking partner Craig Farrell is likely to keep his place for Saturday's home game against Cambridge after he, too, impressed Walker with his display at Stevenage.

Daniel McBreen and Richard Brodie are the most obvious choices to replace Sodje but Walker has hinted that teenager Adam Boyes might come into his plans.
