| Saturday, 23 November, 2002, 18:21 GMT Oldham 0-0 Cheltenham High-flying Oldham failed to find the form which has taken them near the summit of Division Two as Cheltenham battled to a thoroughly deserved draw at Boundary Park. It was arguably the Latics' poorest performance of the season and they rarely looked like a side with promotion ambitions. Cheltenham defied their position in the league's relegation zone and took the game to the home side although they were let down by poor finishing. Martin Devaney came closest with a quality strike in the final stages which forced goalkeeper Les Pogliacomi into a desperate save. Oldham never settled and could only manage one shot on target, but John Eyre's first-half opportunity was easily stopped by keeper Steve Book. Chris Armstrong also had a chance but was unable to keep his header down from six yards. Oldham: Pogliacomi, Beharall, Hill, Armstrong, Murray, Baudet, Darren Sheridan, Eyre, Eyres, Corazzin, Andrews. Cheltenham: Book, Howarth, Brough, Mike Duff, Victory, Devaney, Forsyth, Finnigan, McCann, Brayson, Alsop. Referee: M Ryan (Lancashire) |
