Harrogate Town 1-0 Worcester City

Harrogate Town

Worcester City's poor end-of-season run continued as they suffered a fifth Blue Square Bet North game without a win.

In contrast, Graeme Armstrong hit his 20th goal of the season to leave Harrogate Town unbeaten in nine games.

Wayne Phillips set up Armstrong midway through the first half, as Harrogate's fifth clean sheet in six games moved them up to 12th in the table.

Worcester were without their leading scorer, striker Mark Danks for the second match in a row.

The 13-goal striker missed Tuesday's game at Workington because of work commitments and found himself again not selected for the trip to North Yorkshire.

Harrogate manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York:

"It's good to get a home win after drawing the last three. It's kept the unbeaten run going and it was important we got a win ahead of the Alfreton clash on Tuesday.

"Our goal was the first really good ball from a wide position in the first half and look what happens. When we miss out the first man and float it up there, we've got an aggressive front man. Armstrong was probably the man of the match for me.

"We had passages of play rather than dominance and silky football. However the job was to get three points and again builds confidence."

City manager Carl Heeley told BBC Hereford & Worcester:

"It wasn't conducive to team spirit that Mark Danks travelled, so we didn't bring him on the coach."
