Boston United bosses play down Grimsby Town link

Boston United joint managers Rob Scott and Paul Hurst insist they have had no contact with Grimsby Town about their vacant managerial position.

The duo have been tipped by one bookmaker as favourites to take over at the Blue Square Bet Premier club.

But Scott told BBC Lincolnshire the link was just speculation and no-one had contacted him or Hurst.

"We're second in the league and we got promotion last year and people are going to talk," he said.

"Apparently we've had an interview. If that's the case then get some money on it, but I tell you now I haven't got any money on it.

"In any business if you achieve you get headhunted. If that's going to happen I have no idea, if it's now, two years, three years, five years down the line, who knows? We might get sacked by then."

Hurst and Scott are looking for their third consecutive promotion since starting their managerial careers with Ilkeston, where they led the team to promotion to the Blue Square North before repeating the feat with Boston the year after.
