Grimsby chairman John Fenty identifies new manager
Fenty has appointed eight Grimsby new managers in the last ten years
Grimsby Town chairman John Fenty claims to have identified the man he wants to fill the club's managerial vacancy.
However Fenty is keeping his cards close to his chest after sacking Neil Woods earlier this week.
Fenty told BBC Radio Humberside: "We've been talking to a number of targets, we've got a raft of applications and at this moment I'm tight lipped."
He added:"We're looking for a manager that knows this level, that knows where to get the players from at this level.
Fenty has not ruled out offering Woods some sort of role at the club.
He said: "Whether he'll back back at the club I can't tell you at this moment, but we are looking to appoint externally both manager and assistant manager.
"We're looking to make an appointment as soon as possible."
Former York City manager Martin Foyle, currently first team coach at Bristol Rovers, is rumoured to be among the favourites for the job.
