Lawrie Wilson scored twice to help Stevenage come from a goal behind to beat Lincoln.
Ashley Grimes put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot, after Scott Laird had handled in the area.
The home side pulled level when Wilson found some space in the area and fired in from close range.
Wilson then controlled a John Mousinho pass before crashing a shot into the top corner from 20 yards to put Boro ahead, and they held on for the win.
Stevenaqe manager Graham Westley told BBC Three Counties Radio: "We knew it was going to be a tough contest. They are a much improved side who have dug themselves out of trouble.
"It's about time we won a game from behind. It's been a bit of an albatross around our necks that every time we have gone behind we have either drawn or lost. It's nice to reverse that.
"I wasn't best pleased with the first half performance. I thought we were lack-lustre, we didn't show enough desire or ambition and we had to step it up if we were going to win the game."
Lincoln City manager Steve Tilson told BBC Lincolnshire: "I thought it was a game we could have not only got a point out of, but three. They were a direct side but they didn't create too much.
"We tried to get it down and play it a little bit more than we have done for a while so I was pleased in that respect but disappointed to lose because it was a game we could have got something out of.
"But we picked injuries to key players today (Ashley Grimes, Stephen Hunt and Luke Howell). In an ideal world if we had 50 points we wouldn't need to get anyone in, but we're thin on the ground. If we weren't short in some areas we certainly are now."
