Dartford's Tony Burman dismisses talk of relegation

Dartford boss Tony Burman has insisted there is still plenty of time to turn their fortunes around this season.

His side have lost their last four games and find themselves 19th in Blue Square Bet South.

"I know it plays on the players' minds, and the supporters' minds but we haven't got through half the season yet," Burman told BBC Radio Kent.

"We need to keep plugging away and try to change things around. It does happen, football changes very quickly."

"But we're down there and the league doesn't lie," admitted Burman.

The Darts romped to the Ryman Premier title last season - dominating the league from start to finish.

At the beginning of this campaign Burman felt he had a good enough squad be contenders in their new league.

But now he plans to bring in some new players to help them move away from the relegation mire.

"It's obviously disappointing where we are because I felt we'd got a team together that could have a good challenge in this division," he said.

"It hasn't worked out for us so you have to change things - which we'll endeavour to do."
