Dartford boss Tony Burman delighted with FA Trophy win
Burman's Dartford currently lie 17th in the Blue Square Bet South
Dartford boss Tony Burman says his side deserved Tuesday's 1-0 FA Trophy first round replay win over Crawley Town.
Tom Champion's 92nd-minute goal downed the Blue Square Bet Premier side and booked the Darts a second round trip to Middlesex side Ashford Town.
"It's cup football and cup football is different," Burman told BBC Radio Kent.
"As we proved it doesn't matter what league you're in, it doesn't matter where you are in the league - you've got to be right on it on the night."
He added: "If it's meant to be, like it was for us, then it's meant to be."
The Darts had led 3-1 in the original tie at Broadfield Stadium on Saturday, but two late goals forced the replay at Princes Park.
"I think we deserved the result tonight because of the hard work we'd put in on Saturday and we should have come away from Crawley with a lot more than what we got," said Burman.
"We deserved the win I felt. At 3-1 we hit the post and we should have killed the game off but we didn't and we went in the changing room and people were down."
Although Crawley dominated for large parts the replay, Champion, who missed Saturday's game because of work commitments in the United States, volleyed home in stoppage time to put the Blue Square Bet South side through to round two.
"We've gone to the end of the game and that chance has come," continued Burman
"We only had one or two chances but we've put it away and our players are buzzing.
"We feel we're now getting some togetherness and belief and if we can get that put on the pitch then results might start going our way."
