Matt Smith underlined his importance to Redditch United by netting a hat-trick in the win at Hyde - the Reds' first victory of the season.
After a goalless first half, Smith put the visitors in front on 53 minutes and doubled the lead 15 minutes from time.
Marco Adaggio made it 3-0 two minutes later before Smith completed his hat-trick 10 minutes from time.
Dale Johnson netted Hyde's consolation goal, but the home side struggled after Scott McNiven's second-half red card.
Redditch manager Matt Gardiner told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "Everyone stuck to the jobs that we had given them and we just picked them off.
"Manchester City's reserves play at Hyde and the pitch is excellent and that suited us because this league is very physical but we have some very good footballers.
"The surface probably suited us today and if you had been down at training this week and had seen the spirit in the camp, you wouldn't have thought we were bottom of the league."
