Bury top scorer Ryan Lowe headed in a late equaliser to salvage the Shakers a draw with 10-man Hereford United.
Bury had a chance to go ahead when Lowe was fouled in the box, only for Andy Bartlett to save Andy Bishop's penalty.
The visitors then went in front when Phil Picken brought down Joe Colbeck, Guillem Bauza scoring from the spot.
But United had Kenny Lunt dismissed for a second yellow card before Lowe nodded in his side's last-gasp equaliser from Peter Sweeney's cross.
That was the experienced striker's fifth goal in six games - to leave him just three short of his league century.
Bury striker Ryan Lowe told BBC Manchester:
"Obviously I set myself targets which I don't tell anyone about so I'm on the road to it. It's just about winning for me at Bury now.
"We want to win and finish as high in the table as we can. And we had no choice but to battle on there.
"We're just pleased not to lose at home. A lot of fans travelled to Crewe last week and we were non-existent, so fair play to them today for sticking behind us, and I think we proved our worth in the end."
Hereford manager Simon Davey told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "It was a strange game - to lose a soft penalty and for Barts to save it and then to gain a penalty ourselves and score it.
"We were hanging on for grim death down to 10 men, only to then have a great chance to go two up when Mathieu Manset was through one-on-one.
"But their keeper makes a good save, then it was backs against the wall stuff, so I'm proud of every one of them today as they worked their socks off."
