Telford's Steve Abbott (right) holds off ex-Buck Richard Lavery at Corby
AFC Telford maintained their unbeaten start to the Blue Square North season as they made a goalless draw at Corby.
Telford were pegged back in the first half, with Adam Webster forcing keeper Ryan Young into a close-range save.
They stepped it up after the break. Sub Steve Abbott saw a chance cleared off the line, and Phil Trainer tested Chris McKenzie in the Corby goal.
The result meant the Bucks narrowed the gap on leaders Alfreton, who lost to third-placed Boston, to three points.
Telford boss Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire:
"I had a few harsh words with them at half time - I thought we were still on the bus for the first half.
"In the second half we came out of the traps, and I thought there was only going to be one winner.
"Phil John should have scored, and their keeper admitted Stevie Abbott's shot went behind the line and he's pulled it back - but we've just got to get on with it."
