Harris sealed victory for the Linnets in extra-time
King's Lynn Town's Robbie Harris returned to haunt his old club as The Linnets edged Dereham Town in what turned out to be a close fought FA Vase first qualifying round tie at Aldiss Park.
In all honesty, I was expecting a rather more full-blooded affair but there was little for the referee to do, which is always a good sign, and a crowd of around 700 enjoyed some decent football.
The Magpies must have thought they were going through when Kyle Downes scored his first goal for the club just before half time.
They held the lead until injury time when up popped Lynn skipper Jack Defty with the leveller.
At the start of extra time, Harris got on the end of a superb cross from Jamie Thurlbourne to head home what turned out to be the winner.
It was a great shame that these two clubs met so early in the competition; they are both too good for the loser to be out this soon.
Lynn progress though to the next round and meet another Norfolk club, Great Yarmouth Town.
Gorleston and Thetford Town will also join them following their wins over Ely City and Long Melford on Tuesday night.
However, Diss Town are out, having lost 3-0 at Newmarket Town on Saturday, as are Fakenham Town who suffered a 3-1 loss at home to Long Melford on Tuesday.
In the Ryman Premier, Lowestoft Town are now on a roll. After losing their opening game, they have since won four on the trot, the latest a 4-1 victory over Folkestone Invicta at Crown Meadow.
Danny Bloomfield netted a brace to continue his recent good form in front of goal. He is certainly benefitting from a consistent run in the side.
He is looking really sharp and his partnership with Lee McGlone is producing the goods. With last season's top scorer Matt Nolan out injured that is good news for the Trawler Boys.
